We are seeking an experienced MySQL DBA to join our client in West LA area. This is a direct hire position within an excellent ecommerce company with an excellent benefit package. Responsibilities: - Oversee approx. 20 MySQL installations and ensure data durability, integrity, availability, and recoverability - Guide development on all projects that access database information - Configure and fine-tune each server's performance and perform regular benchmarks - Devise solutions for growth-related issues and present to management before problems arise - Handle daily responsibilities as the sole DBA to 10 developers (eg. query tuning, index optimization, troubleshooting, code review, documentation, etc) Experienced with: - Replication - Clustering - Stored procedures - Triggers - Built custom backup program with detailed auditing, enabling detailed growth tracking - Established master-master replication and trained coworkers in failover procedures - Built distributed tracking and data caching system which reduces load on central databases and ensures that critical application functionality is never interrupted
