Job Description – Senior Associate-DBA : Email ur resumes at- team_techs@yahoo.co.in Job Summary As an individual contributor, the Senior Associate contributes to the Project Team by using his/her in-depth knowledge of Database administration by delivering his/her works within the prescribed timeframe with the highest degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and efficiency. The Senior Associate works collaboratively with the Project Team members in an unstructured, ambiguous environment. S/He may drive a small sub-team on a project, as necessary. Some domestic overnight and/or international travel may be required. Key Responsibilities Project environments (Dev, Test, UAT, PROD) design/setup/support/administration Regular DBA activities using Oracle, MSSQL etc Team support Build and release Vendor Management Team management Best practices and industry processes Experience: MUST HAVE o 5+ years DBA (4+ relevant experience) o Primarily focus on Oracle DBA, o DBA knowledge in MSSQL, Sybase is a plus o Production support o Capacity planning and estimation o Exposure to OLTP, DW environments o Proficient in data modeling tools like Erwin, Er-Studio o Development support with SQL knowledge o Strong in Performance tuning o Good designing o Good Unix administration o Good knowledge in shell scripting o Good understanding of Hardware (servers) o Good trouble shooting skills o Strong communication (written and verbal) skills o Understanding of the different types of environments (development, staging, testing, production, etc.) and the role they playing the various stages of an application development lifecycle NICE TO HAVE o Good Networking fundamentals o Familiarity w/ application and web servers o Familiarity w/ application build & release, environment management o Good understanding and Familiarity w/ version control software o Ability to prioritize effectively in an unstructured or ambiguous environment o Knowledge of network and systems monitoring and management concepts Soft Skills Task Management: Articulates process for reporting status to senior management / client with defined priorities. Manages and tracks plans of members in their track. Effectively and accurately estimates LOE for their track of work with some oversight. Strives for a deep understanding and expertise with the tools being used (should be probed on features of tools used like CVS). Establishes processes on a new project like steps of doneness with some guidance. Understands, defines and assesses completeness of work and gives feedback to people on track for it Business Development: Can relate current project work to client's business drivers. Is aware of changing business conditions and their impact on software consulting industry. Can articulate key trends in the industry and their impact (e.g. GDD) Communication: Proficient in written and verbal communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients. Facilitates conversations and/or meetings with the client. Mentoring: Mentors others on the team and leads by example
