Software Test Engineer - Location: Pasadena, CA They will pay interviewing and all relocation cost (for Perm positions) and very high salaries. The product is used by organizations around the world to design a wide range of optical systems for a variety of products, including photographic equipment, video cameras, medical instruments, aerospace systems, and much more. The work involves manual testing, maintaining suites of automated testcases, and product release testing across multiple hardware platforms. The company develops, markets and supports state-of-the-art optical CAD/CAE programs for the layout, design and analysis of lens systems. The applicant should be able to interface equally well with a staff of Software Development Engineers, Computer Systems Engineers as well as development managers in a team-oriented environment. Requirements of the position: . Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (Physics, Math, Engineering) . 3 + years experience in software testing . Strong knowledge of software testing concepts and methodologies . Proven record in writing and executing software test plans . Ability to plan and implement testing from the requirements stage to shipment . . Knowledge of software programming concepts . A proven record of accomplishment with excellent references . Ability to use additional tools and utilities, such as file comparison, Ghost, Install Analyzer, and source control (ClearCase) is a plus . The applicant should have knowledge of modern software languages, engineering methods and tools, have a proven record of accomplishment in software development, have excellent references, be able to interface with large, existing software systems and solve problems quickly and accurately. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: · Develop and support of the our product on the Windows platform. · Contribute to requirements definition and functional specifications for new development. · Software implementation utilizing predominately C++ and some Fortran. · Contribute to product quality through unit testing, defect tracking and defect resolution. · Keep abreast of developments in the field of optics. The candidate will be working with a heterogeneous Windows and UNIX network and will interface directly with the development, computer resources, testing, documentation, and marketing staff. Requirements of the position: · Doctorate degree, or equivalent, in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline · Thorough understanding of geometrical optics and electromagnetic propagation. · Experience implementing electromagnetic modeling algorithms (FFT, GBD, FDTD, FEM, MOM, MRTD etc). · 1 or more years of experience developing technical software used by others. · 1+ years experience using C++. · Experience in problem determination with the ability to solve problems quickly and accurately. · Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write functional specifications. · Strong foundation in Software Engineering practices. · Ability to work in a team environment.
