POSITION TITLE: SPSS Business Analyst LOCATION: North Denver Area, Colorado REPORTS TO: Director, Business Analytics TRAVEL: Minimal POSITION SUMMARY: Datasource Consulting specializes in building and directing Business Intelligence (BI) and data integration departments for major corporations. We deliver innovative, end-to end BI and data integration solutions that are successful, scalable and maintainable for our clients. Our methodologies focus on implementing lean, innovative solutions that we have discovered to be successful from inside the corporate walls, not simply literature, conferences and external consulting engagements. We believe that delivering the best solutions requires the best resources. We are searching for a SPSS Marketing Business Analyst to work closely with functional business users to identify reporting and analytical needs in order for the company to make more informed decisions on the internal operations of the company. The team utilizes a variety of information management tools to develop and deploy data, reporting, analysis, and integration services to corporate and field customers. The position requires a proven knowledge of preparing and maintaining detailed analyses and reports related to market trend models, competitor analysis, statistics and market segmentation. The candidate will also prepare data in support of strategic management analyses and business surveys. This individual must also be able to prepare data in support of strategic management analyses and business surveys and comfortable presenting detailed analyses to the executive team. DUTIES AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Works with business users to achieve an understanding of their data use in order to develop reporting and analysis to meet their needs on a number of performance metrics (financial analysis, customer attrition figures, customer behavior and spending patterns, company capabilities, and market conditions). • Employs methodic life cycle approach for new reports and analytical development consisting of "standard offering" and ad hoc deliverables for business users. • Develops reports and analyses using BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Toad, SPSS and Microsoft Access. • Performs data analyses to address complex business questions. • Presents financial analysis to executive management. • Enhances and maintains existing reports and analytical applications. • Provides third tier level tool and data model support to business users. BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business) • Minimum of two (2) years experience providing reporting and analytical support to finance/accounting, sales, IS, and/or operations required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. • Experience in development methodology and best practice processes preferred. • Working experience in requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, testing, and implementation required. • Working knowledge of Data Warehousing, Corporate Information Factory, ERP, e-commerce, and Business Intelligence concepts preferred. • The ability to create advanced SQL queries. • Experience with OLAP, interactive executive dashboards and Oracle SQL desired. • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Suite, BI Tools (Cognos, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Hyperion, MS Access), relational database, and primary business process area experience required. • SPSS or other statistical software (SAS, Angoss, Minitab) experience preferred.
