On behalf of the Marco Polo Organizing Team, I would like to thank all talented artists and agencies for participating in our competition. The overwhelming majority of your entries were refined and elegant solutions to our challenge. We particularly liked your very thoughtful and beautiful reflections on aviation. You highlighted the universal message of peace in our international sporting event: Like the Olympic Games, the Marco Polo Rally spans countries and cultures and helps us to better understand and appreciate mankind. Others aptly pronounced the tremendous courage, endurance and thrills of our airmen and adventure. We chose Mike Jansen's brilliant design using Greek Mythology’s Daedalus, Icarus’ father. His artistic execution in the style of DaVinci truly captures the dream and dawn of flight and thereby stresses the unique historical dimension of our event.
