PROJECTS DETAILS :

1] Client : Institute For Development And Research In Banking Technology

Project : Structured Financial Messaging System (SFMS) Period : 1st April 2003 – till date Location : Hyderabad , India Brief Description : One of the activities of the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), Hyderabad, an autonomous centre for development and research in Banking technology, established by the Reserve Bank of India in 1996, is to provide the Indian Financial Network (INFINET) as a reliable communication backbone for National Payments System catering to inter bank applications like RTGS, PDO, Government Transactions etc. and intra-bank applications.

Salient Features of work done: Integration of two existing banking applications on different platforms.

Developing a generic Bank API, to be integrated into SFMS, to integrate to other existing bank applications.

Developing Data Mapping facility for mapping the data between two separate applications.

2] Client : GE Power Systems, Atlanta, USA Project : GEPS – Monitoring and Diagnostics ( M & D ) Period : 10th June 2002 – 1st Dec 2002 Location : Mumbai, India Brief Description : GEPS M&D center in Atlanta, USA, monitors and stores critical turbine vibration and combustion date for several hundred GE gas turbines located throughout the world. This project involved development of web-based tool to be used by the center, to improve unit performance and assist in problem identification and diagnosis.

Salient Features of work done: Use of XML was made for faster backend database response. Servers Jrun 2.3 and weblogic 5.0 were used with java, jdbc, jsp ,javascript with backend as oracle 8.0 and XML for intermediate data storage. Dynamic HTML report generation based on the constantly changing data in the database which included data such as font size, header, content , title and other specifications.

3] Client : GE Aircraft Engines ,Cincinnati , USA Project : GEAE – Digital Risk Management Interface Period : 10th OCT 2001 – till date Location : Mumbai, India Brief Description : This project involved development of a web-based tool primarily for Sales and Risk Management departments of GE Aircraft Engines. Salient Features of work done: An interface to integrate 4 related applications was developed. Since these applications involved different backends like oracle, siebel, MS sql server, the interface was developed in java, jsp, jdbc, XML using weblogic 5.0 as server. Java Messaging and EJB components were used to track the data integration and turn around time of the system.

4]Client : GE Aircraft Engines ,Cincinnati , USA Project : GEAE – DSS Pricing Support Period : 10th OCT 2001 – till date Location : Mumbai, India Brief Description : This was an enhancement and maintenance project for the pricing application of GEAE. Salient Features of work done: Involved investigation, analysis and modification of the oracle stored procedures used, for faster response. Server used was Tomcat with java, jsp, jdbc, with oracle as backend. Java Messaging was used to track things like price quotes, new products etc.

Project : GEAE – Time and Material Overhaul

Period : 14th FEB 2001 – 9th OCT 2001 Location : Mumbai, India Brief Description : A web based tool was developed to help the GEAE intranet users for consistency and quality of proposals across the overhaul shops. This was used in synchronizing data sources with the help of latest web enabling technologies. Salient Features of work done: Involved development of a web based tool for the addition, deletion and modification of the shop, work scope and other details of aircraft engines and related parts. Oracle Application server was used with Java, Servlets, jdbc and oracle as backend.

6]Client : Montgomery WARDS, Chicago, USA

Project : WARDS -- Product Services System Period : 14th FEB 2001 – 9th OCT 2001 Location : Chicago, USA Brief Description : Wards is a retail store chain with about 250 retail centers spread across the USA. This project involved production support and maintenance of the Product Services System which dealt with the service contracts purchased on the merchandise. Salient Features of work done: Worked as onsite coordinator and in the primary production support team providing 24 x 7 production support to the system. Also involved enhancements and modifications to the existing system. This was a mainframe based project with Pacbase, CICS, COBOL as front end and DB2 as backend.

7]Client: Montgomery WARDS, Chicago, USA Project: NPC ADHOC REPORT RE-ENGINEERING PROJECT Period: 8TH AUGUST,1999 - 1st JAN 2000 Location : Mumbai, India Brief Description : This project involved enhancements and development of ad-hoc Reports for the "National Parts Center" of Wards, located at Berkeley , Illinois, USA Salient Features of work done: Involved re-engineering of existing Focus based reports into Cobol and CICS based reports. This was a mainframe based project with CICS, COBOL as front end and DB2 as backend.

Project: British Gas -- TRANSCO Period: 8TH AUGUST,1999 - 1st JAN 2000 Location : Bangalore, India Brief Description : This project involved Y2K conversion of TRANSCO Distribution System. Salient Features of work done: Involved identification, analysis and closing Y2K related defects in the CICS – Cobol code of the system.

DB2 related impact analysis and testing related to the front end Y2K changes.
