Project_Description

Write a program to simulate a transmission with error detection & correction using the Hamming code. Program must include the following functionality: 1) Accept as input the data to be transmitted 2) Display the binary string, with the necessary bits to accommodate the Hamming code, that represents the data to be transmitted 3) Allow the user to select which bit to change, to simulate a data error 4) Display the corrupted data string 5) Use the Hamming code technique to correct the faulty bit 6) Display the end results of the transmission

Comments

1) The program may be written in VB, java or C++ 2) The object code must be written using good program structure 3) Complete documentation (liberal comments) must be provided 4) An electronic copy of the object code and the executable must be mailed electronically by 10/25/04 12:00pm EST. 5) The user interface must be easy to use and self-explanatory 6) The display must show: - The original data entered - The data encoded for transmission - The corrupted data during transmission - The corrected data after transmission - The corrected decoded data after transmission -Program must work with a seven-bit binary string (i.e. 1011101)
