Project "Two-factor authentication solution add ons" - Completed

Posted: Wednesday, April 09, 2003
Time 11:10 AM

Hello,

I am trying to get an idea of costs for some development we need done. We have written a two-factor authentication solution (very similar in concept to RSA's Ace/SecurID).  Our product is written in Python and runs on Linux.  We've been using it ourselves for about a year and now plan to productise it.  To make it more user friendly we have three additional things to develop (all in Python),

1. A client application (at the moment we just authenticate using a Telnet client).  This we are writing in-house.

2. An Administrator's GUI (which is basically a front end to Postgres).

3. A password formatting tool.  I'll explain - our two-factor authentication product requires the remote worker to authenticate using a password from a list of one-time passwords.  Currently, the one-time passwords are printed onto sheets of A4.  However, we want a tool that will format them (in .pdf format) so they can also be printed onto small cards (credit card size) and then laminated.  So we'd print an A4 sheet with 2 columns and 5 rows.  Each card would have about 100 passwords on one side and 50 on the reverse.  This would leave room for a small bar code (generated using GNU Barcode) to identify each card and a logo or something.  My colleague Pete Chown has written the technical spec for this formatting tool which I have attached as a .pdf.

I would be interested to know,

1. Whether you have the skills?;
2. How long you anticipate it would take?; and
3. What it would cost?

Ideally we want the same person to develop the password formatting tool and the Admin GUI, though it obviously depends on the success of this first project.

I look forward to hearing from you - please respond by email.

Paul

Project "Cellular Service Site"

Posted: Thursday, April 10, 2003
Time:
4:29

Hi,

I own a small cellular service retailing business in Southern California.  We have longed looked for ways to start selling our product and services online.  Most of the time, we have been set back due to the immense cost of developing a customized e-commerce solution that does just what we want it to do.  Therefore, we have even tried contacting web developers all over the world to modify current pre-packaged e-commerce solutions to match our needs.  I have uploaded a quote request to: click here for copy of specifications, so that you can see more clearly what it is we are looking.  Hopefully, this should provide you with a decent amount of information to provide us with a fair accurate price quote for this project.

Project "Three Hospitals" - Completed

Posted: Tuesday December 12, 2002
Time: 08:22 AM

Project Details

We have a home grown system off of the AS400 which we love.  We are a part of 44 hospitals on the east coast, USA.  Our three hospitals in PA are having problems with the state Medical Assistance and Medicaid HMO's because they pay off of "MA service codes."  They use their own codes instead of Medicare HCPCs.  We are looking for someone to create software that can crosswalk a Medicare HCPC to the appropriate MA Service Code.  Do you think your company could accomplish this?  I know it doesn't sound like much of anything, but once you get in the details -- it's pretty involved

Please let us know if you provide such service and how much your service cost in USA dollar for writing below client server java program?

Implement a three-tiered client server architecture in Java that will use UDP as the communication protocol. The client server system will implement an application that will provide word count support for a set of input files. Design and implement a single server that will function as the word count application for multiple client connections (which your will also design and implement).

A third-tier will store persistent data associated with this systems. The Word Count application is based on the supplied grammar and must be written in Java. No commercial database engines (other than your own implementation of a data store) are to be used in this system.

This project involves the design and implementation of a middleware layer that includes a cache service for your word count system.

The assignment will require additional functionality within the data tier.

One does not need multiple machines to implement or test this project. However, the assumption is that each element can exist on a separate physical machine and must use remote communication to accomplish a given task. The intent of the middleware cache is to reduce read latency. The word count system will include a well-defined middleware layer that provides the glue for the system. Communication in the word count system will occur through the middleware. The middleware will support the normal word count client server communication and provide the necessary elements to support a cache service.

You must design and implement a single cache service that supports multiple clients (any client created within your system will have access to the middleware and thus the cache service). Cache functionality must supports lookup, addition, and removal of elements in the cache. Thus, the cache must have a fixed size and must be consistent. Each Java client must interface with Java Word Count Server by using UDP in the middleware. The client server system will allow a user to send a text file to the server and choose what information the server will re
