Undergraduate Project : PROJECT IN EMBEDDED SYSTEMS REMOTE SENSING THROUGH SMS =========================== Controlling of remotely placed devices using SMS The project setup has two mobiles and SMS decoding unit. One mobile is permanently connected to the devices to be controlled, through the SMS decoding block. The second mobile is with the user. The user can switch the devices on/off by sending a text message. When the message is sent from user mobile to the device mobile with specific ‘AT commands’ . The SMS decoding block decodes the message and sends the control commands to the device. This control signal in conjunction with the appropriate hardware controls the device. This sms is decoded in particular format called ‘PDU format ’ (protocol description unit). This data is then used my microcontroller for further processing.
