Date of Birth : 1st Nov 1980 Final Year PROJECT IMPLEMENTING N-TIER ARCHITECTURE Client : MTS Technologies Ltd., Visakhapatnam. Role : Analysis, design and Implementation. Objective : The optimization of the existing Client-Server Architecture of the Central Database Server, of the company located at the corporate office in Visakhapatnam and also to give an opportunity to the administrator of the company to monitor the transactions taking place through the Server at various LAN locations in the office. Solution : Introduction of an Administration Server in between the Client and the Database Application Server to monitor the transactions taking place through the server and to connect the client to the Administration Server instead of the Database Server to reduce the network traffic by not maintaining a direct connection with the Database Server. The Administration Server may well be used to restrict the Client from complete exposure of the Database Server by introducing the concept of giving special permissions like READ, WRITE & EXECUTE etc. Tools Used: Java (jdk1.2.2) – Swing, Awt, JDBC, Sockets, TCP/IP prog. Oracle 8i. Result : The outcome of the project is a 3-Tier Architecture spread over a LAN with successful Administration of the Database Application Server of the Company and can be extended to N-tiers.
