Role : As a Team member I was responsible for the development of Management Console and Command Line Interface using which one can configure the Axon switch and RF Port Simulator. I was also involved in enhancements in Simulator. Description : The Mobius was adjudged as the best WLAN product in N+I show, Atlanta, US. The Mobius Axon Wireless Switch centralizes control and management functions for the wireless network. The intelligence that until now had been designed into the access points of a WLAN have been moved to a central switch with corresponding improvements in functionality. This allows for greater flexibility and extensibility. For example, the Switch is based on Linux-based RTOS, allowing new functions to be added easily. A new and better WLAN infrastructure, the Mobius Wireless System is the WLAN system with centralized intelligence — unifying network access, security(WEP, RADIUS, WPA-TKIP, KeyGuard, Kerberos), policy management and QoS at the switch level. This provides the highest level of wireless security to protect your network, data and devices (without compromising service). Easier definition of rules for QoS and security (for greater management efficiency). Media independence and scalability (from FH to 802.11b to 802.11a to emerging standards). System Management functions are available via an XML-based graphical user interface, a command line facility (using telnet, the Switch's serial port, or SSH), and Java-based browsers. Description : The Discussion Forum facilitates discussion of topics under various categories among the users of this portal. There are two modules. The user module has different zones like Parent Zone, Teacher Zone etc. Based on the zone for which the user has logged in, the user can view messages, reply to messages and post new messages. The administration module automates the creation of categories under each zone and topics under each category. A moderator for each zone can be created who controls the display of messages and topics under his corresponding categories. Project Title : E-Business Hub for Schoolnet. Client : Schoolnet India Limited. Team size : 20. Duration : 3 Months (March 2001 to August 2001). Environment : Net.Commerce, DB2, AIX. Role : Development. Description : The project involves developing e-business portal for Schoolnet to deliver electronic contents and sell learning materials over the web. The portal intends to link up various schools across the country and deliver e-lessons and e-tests directly to classrooms through the Internet. The solution integrates Net.Commerce for e-commerce and content management. As a member of the team, I have done extensive work on various system integration strategies, and application development using C++. My achievements in the project include: 1. Developed solution in C++ to integrate Net.Commerce for sharing shopper information between Net.commerce and Schoolnet portal. 2. Designed significant modules of the system. 3. Developed custom solutions for caching and staging. 4. Carried out documentation, training, and hand-over activities. 5. Role : Design, Development. Description : Puzzle is a part of PORTAL- www.schoolnetindia.com. It is a software for solving the puzzles, with a provision for the users to view the answer with the transient. It has got an Administrator module using which one can create puzzles. Administrator module is also an online module. This project is tested using Rational Tools. Project Title : Online SketchPad. Client : Schoolnet India Limited. Description : SketchPad is a part of PORTAL- www.schoolnetindia.com. Online Sketchpad is a software that lets you interact with or publish sketches made using Offline Sketchpad on the Internet. Online Sketchpad can be used to share one’s geometry work with people who may not have offline Sketchpad. One can use Online Sketchpad to distribute interactive dynamic geometry activities and curriculum over internet. This project is tested using Rational Tools. Project Title : Crossword. Client : Schoolnet India Limited. Duration : 3 Months (August 2000 to October 2000). It creates standard newspaper style crossword. It stores all the crossword information in to Oracle Database. User is able to open previous crossword and modify that crossword. The applet retrieves the crossword data from Database using applet-servlet communication and validates the answers when user is solving the crossword. It displays wrong letters with red color and correct with black. This project is tested using Rational Tools. Project Title : Chat. Client : Schoolnet India Limited. Duration : 4 Months (April 2000 to August 2000). Team size : 1. Software Tool : JDK- 1.1.8, AWT, Socket Programming, Applet. Environment : IIS Web Server- 4.0, Apache Web Server- 1.3.9. Operating System: Windows-NT, AIX- 4.3. Role : Design, Development. Description : Chat is a part of PORTAL- www.schoolnetindia.com. This is basically a Socket and HTTP based Client / Server application that helps different users to chat irrespective of their geographical location. The chat server basically runs in the server side and the client Applet alone is loaded in the client side. The client makes a connection to the server when it is loaded in the browser of the client. This project is tested using Rational Tools. Project Title : Company Auditing System. Duration : 5 Months (October 1999 to March 2000). Team size : 5. Software Tool : JDK-1.2.1, JDBC, SWING. Back End : MS ACCESS- 97. Role : Development. Description : The project aims at developing company audit maintenance system. The company certifies organisations based on different aspects of audit. The main features of system are as follows: · Application is of MDI type. · Consists of a Main Window to which a menu bar is attached. · The user can select the company and audit details from the respective tables. · Automatic audit maintenance for adding new audits, record the details of the company, auditor in-charge, type of audit. · The system automatically deletes the audit details of the company for the corresponding audit number whose audit is rejected. __________________________________________________________________________________ Project Title : GUI Controls Library. Duration : 5 Months (April 1999 to August 1999). Team size : 2. Software used : JDK- 1.1.8, AWT, Applet. Role : Development. Description : The Java AWT lacks sophisticated GUI controls to build industrial strength applications. Hence, we have come out with a wide variety of GUI controls as tabbed notebooks, progress controls, sliders, spin controls, animated buttons, tree view, tables, splitters, toolbar, status bar, etc. to help build attractive, rich, user interfaces. Being developed in Java, developers can easily customise these controls to get the desired look and feel or extend these classes to get the desired behaviour. Project Title : Java Applet Generator. Duration : 5 Months (September 1998 to January 1999). Team size : 2. Software used : JDK-1.1.8, AWT, Applet. Role : Development. Details : We have developed a framework that enables a user to develop components that can be embedded in any web page to access data sources. Using these components, a user can query a database or update a database. The values required to query or update a database can be supplied at run time - that is the components are parameterised and the actual values are supplied at run time. Using this facility, an application need not have to go through the web server to access any data source. Also, the user needs not to have product-specific script to access data sources. Project Title : Test Plan for the JDBC driver. Duration : 3 Months(April 1998 to June 1998). Team size : 2. Software used : JDK- 1.1.8, JDBC. Role : Testing, Documentation. Description : This test plan is aimed at providing the methods in which JDBC driver will be tested. The tests are aimed at rigorously testing the methods implemented in the driver for the following parts:- Connection, Driver, Indexes, PreparedStatement, Statement.
