Professional Experience Geometric Software Solutions,Pune,India Feb ‘00-till Date Client: A PLM major in US 1.Designing and Developing Catia v5 based Fatigue Analysis software: Catia v5 based Fatigue Analysis software is being designed and developed which uses e-n analysis to predict fatigue life and damage of parts under cyclic stresses. 2.Designing and Developing CATIA FE data Translators for various CAE solvers: - Catia FE data translators for CAE solvers like Ansys, Abaqus, AP209, Nastran and Marc are being developed Input files specific to the solvers are created. Following design, development tasks are carried out: a. Development of CATIA CAA Analysis document and Workbenches for Structural, Thermal and Nonlinear studies. b. Creation of UI elements with Dialogs, Addins, Menus, Toolbars, and commands. c. Creation of Analysis cases, mapping of FE entities like, Load sets, Restraint Sets, Material set etc, for different commercial solvers. d. User defined features creation and populating Field model with FE data collected from UI e. Exporting all the analysis data for translation using solver specific writer code. f. Development of writers to generate input decks for above CAE solvers. g. Analysing solver outputs for various types of analysis like Contact, Buckling, Frequency, Transient, Structural and Nonlinear. The results of each solver are compared with those of native ELFINI solver. 2.Development of PATRAN Preference for MARC FEA Solver Msc/Patran product is used for Pre/Post Processing of CAE data. It is extensively used by Auto, Aero and General Engineering Industries. (Ref: www.mscsoftware.com ). This project involves design and development of forward and reverse FE data translators for Marc CAE Solver The project implementations featured into a new PATRAN version release every 6 months. Our team worked as an extension of US development team. 3.Development of GUI for Web Based Knowledge Access system using Java and XML In this project I designed and developed a Java Based Front End for a Material Database Management Software. The GUI facilitates entry and retrieval of data for the users belonging to various Departments in the Client company. The Data is stored in and retrieved from the server using RMI calls. Default values are loaded using XML documents and user input can be provided by manual entry or by accessing Excel sheet data using JDBC-ODBC Bridge. Technology: Java using Swing, JDBC IDE: Kawa Duration 2 Months

4.Software Development for providing a VRML frames Mirroring utility in MSC/Patran Client: HILTI, Germany The project involves software development for creating a mirror utility in Patran. It provides the user facility to do mirroring of static, animated and any user defined VRML frames generated by Patran about the selected plane. User needs to subject only part of the symmetric model to analysis. The VRML frames for results can be mirrored by this utility about any user defined plane. Thus, the Modeling and Analysis costs are reduced. A GUI is provided in Patran, which calls this mirror functionality. Technologies: C++,VRML, PATRAN,WINNT. Duration: - 3 months 5. Software Development for providing a CAD Surface and Curve Modification tool Client: HILTI, Germany When two surfaces intersect or cross in Patran database geometry, it may so happen that two vertices of the surfaces come close to each other. It is best to merge these two vertices so that meshing and other related functionalities are not hindered. I developed this tool, which merges the original point and the new point and all related surfaces and curves are modified. Technologies: PATRAN, PCL, Platform: SUN Duration: 1.5 months 6.Software design and Development of Web Based Toolkit using ASP This project involved design and development a toolkit to be used by company employees to apply for internal projects within the company. They can suggest product ideas to a central evaluation committee. Administrators can submit new projects, update project parameters like requirements start and end dates. Technologies ASP using IIS Server, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML and backend is MS- Access. Duration: 3 Months 7.Customization of MSC/Patran for Flight Loads and Dynamics Module: - The project involved development of Flutter Analysis User Interface for Patran Flight Loads & Dynamics Module. UI creation and implementation is done using PCL language. Technologies: Patran Platform: SUN Duration: 1.5 months

Ltd,Pune Nov ‘98-Nov ‘99 Client: Local and international Tool manufacturers like Seko Tools, BCT technologies 3D Modeling and NC Tool Path Generation for Cutting Tools: - In this project I did modeling of cutting tools geometry, NC Tool Path generation and implementation on 3 and 5-axis CNC Milling machines. This helped in reducing cost to customer by replacing the imported NC codes and reduction in machining time by optimizing the NC code.
